VLN Course Exams

Students are encouraged to complete all unit assignments or projects in each module before writing the Unit Exam.

Where to Write Your VLN Exams

All students must write their exams at one of the two VLN exam sites, except for the following:

1. Students who live in Whistler, Squamish or on the Sunshine Coast are enrolled in a secondary school will write exams at their school. It is the student's responsibility to arrange exam times with their school counsellor.
2. Students who live outside the Greater Vancouver area or are travelling
3. Students with special needs

Exam Supervision Outside of VLN

Students, as described above, who are unable to write VLN exams at a VLN exam site, are responsible for finding a test supervisor who is a certified teacher, counsellor or librarian at a school, library or continuing education or adult center. Students must make a written request to their VLN counsellor or contact us for the required forms.

Students who do not meet the above requirements for outside exam supervision and feel they have a valid reason for outside supervision must contact their VLN counsellor to make their request.

Exam Fees

There is no exam fee for VLN students who write their exams at the VLN test site at John Oliver Secondary School.

Students who choose to write exams at the North Vancouver test site will be charged a flat yearly fee of $50.00 at the time of registration. Otherwise, it will be $10.00 to write each exam.
